E-mail inventor Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai has backed Innovation Ecosystem North East Sri Lanka.
IE-NESL is being established to spearhead research and innovation to help eager and aspiring university graduates to launch startups in Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka. The group’s mission, “is to provide exemplary research, networking, and entrepreneurship to aid economic growth and development. The two institutions critical for this project’s ecosystem are the Jaffna University located in Jaffna and Eastern University located in Batticaloa.”
The prospect of having Dr. Ayyadurai’s involvement with Innovation Ecosystem North East Sri Lanka was exciting according to Aran Navaratnam, the visionary and project manager of the group.
“We are excited to have Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai’s guidance to make this dream a reality. In his own words Dr. Shiva summed up his reasoning for involvement in this wonderful initiative as follows: IE-NESL very much aligns with my mission to support and inspire worldwide innovation and I am glad to participate in the launch event,” Navaratnam told lankareporter.
Dr. Ayyudurai spoke to the group via skype at an event in Toronto, “Accelerating Innovation in North East Sri Lanka”.
