Four Sri Lankan films at Seattle festival

Acclaimed Sri Lankan director Prasanna Vithanage will attend the 9th annual Seattle South Asian Film Festival. In all, up to four Sri Lankan films will be shown at the festival. Vithanage is also expected to participate in a panel discussion on the final day of the festival.

Anjula Rasanga, a filmmaker based in British Columbia, Canada will also participate in the festival as moderator and film curator representing Sri Lanka.

Vithanage’s Sinhalese film, With you Without you, set in post war Sri Lanka will have screening on November 9.

Visakesa Chandrasekaram’s Frangipani, touches rapidly changing village life, in a film centered on a love triangle. Frangipani will have screening on November 8.

Sumudu Athukorala’s short film Hole in the Wall will have screening on November 9.

Nadya Perera’s documentary 4th of February, three Sri Lankan women including the high profile case of Rizana Nafeek, a child Sri Lankan housemaid executed by the Saudi Arabian government. 4th of February will have a screening on November 3.
