Trinity College captured the Bradby Shield, winning both the master’s game and the main game at Ajax Wanderers Rugby Grounds. In the main game, Trinity captained by former Trinity ruggerite Ratnakumar Selvaratnam beat Royal College 10 to 5. Trinity masters team was captained by Indika Hemangoda.
The Bradby Shield Encounter – commonly known as “The Bradby” – is the blue ribbon of Sri Lanka’s school rugby union season since 1945. It is played annually between two of the most prestigious schools in the country and traditional rivals Royal College, Colombo, and Trinity College, Kandy.
Last year’s inaugural Bradby in Canada was won by Royal College.
