Toronto’s youth cricket team for England to be announced

City of Toronto staff and members of the community will announce and congratulate the 12 Toronto youth selected for CIMA Mayor’s Cricket Team that will participate in the fifth annual Cricket Across the Pond program on Friday.

Attending on Friday will be Gulzari Babber, President of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); Amal Ratnayake, Chair of CIMA Canada; Zanita DiSalle, Regional Vice President, RBC Royal Bank; Tom Mihalik, owner of Tom’s Place; and Jonathan Dart, United Kingdom Consul General. Radio personality Mike Bullard will be the master of ceremonies.

Members of the CIMA Mayor’s Cricket Team were selected from Toronto’s diverse neighbourhoods. The team will soon travel to the United Kingdom to train and play cricket in Surrey, England. The inaugural Toronto Mayor’s Team versus London Mayor’s Team cricket match will take place in London, England on July 17.
