Sunil Welikala Memorial Cancer Fundraiser 2013
The Welikala Family Picnic was to commemorate Sunil Welikala on the 10th anniversary of his passing with a Fundraiser for Cancer, in aid of the Cancer Centre in Galle, Sri Lanka. The event which took place at Milne Dam Conservation Park in Markham consisted of sports, team, and individual competitions, music, raffle draws and many other activities.

The Welikala Family Picnic was held this summer to commemorate Sunil Welikala on the 10th anniversary of his passing with a fundraiser for cancer, in aid of the Cancer Centre in Galle, Sri Lanka. The event which took place at Milne Dam Conservation Park in Markham consisted of sports, team, and individual competitions, music, raffle draws and many other activities.
All donations from the event were used to set up a trust fund in his memory to help patients of the General Hospital (Cancer Ward) in Galle, Sri Lanka.
Sunil Welikala passed away on September 22, 2003.
