St. Peter’s College rector visits Canada

The Alumni of St. Peter’s and St. St. Benedict’s, jointly hosted current Rector of St. Peter’s and Old Ben, Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin to a dinner reception, preceded by holy mass. A large assembly attended the mass and reception at St. Aidan’s church, Scarborough, Toronto.

Rev. Fr. Martin took this opportunity to outline the major initiatives taking place at St. Peter’s, academically and other spheres, for a healthy education, beneficial to students facing the challenges of the 21st Century. The highlight of his talks was the ongoing preparation for the centenary celebrations in four years, and he invited Peterites all over the world to join them in Colombo in 2022.

Fr. Martin, drew attention to 18 year old Akalanka Pieris, a swimming phenom of St. Peter’s College, Colombo. Akailanka has already won most of the meets in Asia and is setting his focus on the international stage to bring glory to Sri Lanka and St. Peter’s.
