Back after a two-year Covid-induced hiatus, the Toronto Festival of Beer welcomed over 40,000
visitors this year, featuring over 80 exhibitors showcasing 400 different brands of beer. This was
the first time Sri Lankan beers were featured at the festival, and Sinha beer was a major hit at
Canada’s largest celebration of beer. The three-day festival, which begun in 1996, is the
signature beer festival in the country where celebrity chefs showcase their finest dishes and the
best musicians in the country perform their most famous tunes.

Canadians have long indulged the jewel in the Lion’s crown – Sinha Stout, which was endorsed
by the late legendary beer hunter, Mr. Michael Jackson, as the best Stout in the world.
Sinha Stout was brewed in the late 1800’s in the mountains of Sri Lankan, 6000 feet above sea
level, and is known as the best kept secret amongst Stout connoisseurs. Brewed with water,
malted barley, rice, hops, and caramel, this award winning traditional 8.8% Stout, takes your
taste buds on a journey of sweet notes of chocolate, toffee, mocha, caramel, roasted barley
and finishes with a liqueur like character. Sinha Stout pairs extremely well with dishes that
offset the sweetness and caramel flavour in stout. Roasted foods, smoked foods,
barbecued/grilled foods, salty cheeses, oysters, rich stews are popular favorites with Sinha
Stout. Sinha Stout is available at the LCBO.
