Canadian Sri Lankan Malay Rizan Ahamat Vice President of DMDI Canada, received the prestigious award “Laksmana Hang Tuah” from Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Ahmad Zahir Bin Hamidi for his dedication and passion towards the Canadian Sri Lankan Malay and Multicultural Community of Canada.

The ceremony was part of the 17th Convention of the Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI) Organization was held in Melaka, Malaysia at Hotel Hatten, Bandar Hilir, Melaka,Malaysia on the 17th and 18th of November 2016. Representatives from 20 countries attended the convention in Malaysia.

Among distinguished guests were the Governor of Maleka  Dr. Mohd Khalil Bin Yaakob , The Chief Minister of Melaka, DMDI youth Bureau Chairman; Idris Haron, President of DMDI  YBHG Tan Sri Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam and Minister of Youth and Sports of Indonesia Imam Nahrawi.
