The film “Sam’s Story” has been selected to screen at ReelWorld Film Festival  on April 11 at 4.30 at Cineplex Canada Square. It is the debut feature of UCLA-qualified, Sri Lankan Canadian producer/director  Priyankara Vittanachchi and was shot entirely in Sri Lanka.  It had its world premiere at SAFF Vancouver in 2012.

Based on the critically acclaimed book of the same name written by Capt. Elmo Jayawardena that won the Gratiaen Prize* in 2001, (founded by the Sri Lankan-born Canadian novelist Michael Ondaatje,) the book was also listed for the 2002 Dublin Literary Award. The book gained instant popularity in Australia and New Zealand and other countries.
