Canadian travelers to Sri Lanka will no longer require a visa.

Sri Lanka will allow visa-free entry to citizens of 35 countries, including Canada and the United States, starting Oct. 1, 2024, the country’s tourism ministry said Monday.

Harin Fernando, an adviser to the Ministry of Tourism, made the announcement in Colombo, noting that the decision is part of a broader effort to boost tourism. Other countries included in the new policy are Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, India, China, and Japan.
