A naming contest was recently held for Nurse Practitioner Health Clinic in Scarborough in consultation with the local Tamil speaking community.
The clinic announced a name change to “Suka Valvu Maruthuva Nilayam”.
“A naming contest was conducted in collaboration with the Tamil speaking population of Scarborough in order to allow this population to identify with the clinic. Several community members attended the contest to vote on a name that is reflective of the clinic’s vision and values,” said the clinic in a press release.
HF Connecting Health Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is a Government of Ontario initiative funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care to patients.
“Patients who register with a Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic will have access to comprehensive primary health care. Our clinic provides care when patients are ill as well as a range of health services that help individuals and families maintain or improve their overall health status,” added the announcement.
