Royal College wins inaugural Canada Bradby Shield

Royal College OBA Canada won the inaugural Bradby Shield encounter at the picturesque Ajax Wanderer’s rugby grounds.

The Bradby Shield Encounter – commonly known as “The Bradby” – is the blue ribbon of Sri Lanka’s school rugby union season since 1945. It is played annually between two of the most prestigious schools in the country and traditional rivals Royal College, Colombo, and Trinity College, Kandy.

Scores from the Main Game – Bradby Shield Canada: Royal college beat Trinity college by 7 points to 5. Royal try was scored by Thivanka Makalanda and was converted by Chinthaka and Ratnakumar (Rati) scored a try for Trinity.

The Master’s Game: Trinity beat Royal (3 tries) 15 points to nil. 2 tries scored by Sutharshan and 1 by Ananda.

Exhibition Game: Played between St Peters College and St Joseph’s College. Jose won 4 tries to 3 tries.
