Better connectivity for Toronto’s Sri Lankan community

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is home to the largest Sri Lankan community outside Asia, and Qatar Airways’ new direct flights make travel to Colombo (CMB) more convenient than ever. With five daily flights between Doha and Colombo, passengers from Toronto will benefit from shorter travel times and easier connections via Qatar Airways’ Doha hub.

Travellers can now enjoy improved access to other popular South Asian destinations such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Kathmandu. The introduction of this service is expected to boost both leisure and business travel, further strengthening Toronto’s global links.

Qatar Airways’ commitment to Canadian passengers

Speaking on the expansion, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, emphasized the airline’s dedication to providing Canadian customers with world-class service. “The Toronto route is a strong and enduring commitment towards providing Qatar Airways’ Canadian customers with the enhanced connectivity they deserve, as well as access to our world-leading service and Qsuite in-flight product,” he said.

Luxury and comfort on the Toronto-Doha route

The Toronto flights will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring Qatar Airways’ award-winning Qsuite Business Class, with 42 seats, and 312 Economy Class seats. This ensures passengers travelling from Toronto can experience the luxury and comfort that have earned the airline its prestigious awards.

Flight schedule and booking information

The new Toronto route will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The flight schedule is as follows (all times local):

  • Doha (DOH) to Toronto (YYZ) – QR767: Departure 09:50; Arrival 15:55
  • Toronto (YYZ) to Doha (DOH) – QR768: Departure 20:00; Arrival 16:30

With Qatar Airways already flying five times daily between Doha and Colombo, the airline ensures seamless connections for passengers from Canada heading to Sri Lanka.

Strengthening global ties and supporting Canadian efforts

With over 170 global destinations, the airline continues to provide passengers with unmatched luxury travel experiences, further expanding its presence in the Americas.
