For Teaching Excellence, Teaching Excellence in STEM and Excellence in Early Childhood Education

Nirmali Warnakula from Edmonton, Alberta has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Award Excellence in Early Childhood Education in 2022. She was the only person who received this Excellence in Early Childhood Education award from Alberta and there were five all together for this category in Canada. “This is a great achievement for her career”, she says. She has more than 15 years of experience in this field both in Sri Lanka and Canada. She is presently working at the Intercultural Child and Family Center in Edmonton. Her passion is to work with young children providing culturally responsive care in a high-quality environment for the children to be mighty learners and citizens for the rest of their life.
