Marking remembrance day, a special poem

Remembrance Day

A special poem to mark Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day is marked across Canada on Nov. 11 every year, as communities gather to honour the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, in the country’s armed forces. Ceremonies will pause at 11 a.m. local time for two minutes of silence, commemorating the moment the First World War ended on Nov. 11, 1918. From small-town cenotaphs to the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Canadians are paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts past and present.
