Legendary Sri Lankan songstress Latha Walpola arrived in Canada to perform with her son Amith Walpola in Toronto on Saturday, as originally scheduled by organizers here. Shortly before Mrs. Walpola departed Colombo for Toronto, she was admitted to hospital as a precaution.
This evening, the singer practised with the band and young children who will perform at Saturday’s concert. The second leg of the Canadian tour will take Latha Walpola and her son to Montreal Quebec on Sunday.
The last time Mrs. Walpola performed in Canada was during the late 1990s, according to organizers Voice of Lanka television.
