The annual dinner of the Jaffna Central College Old Boys Association took place recently, at the Markham Convention Centre, attracting a remarkable turnout of over 320 guests, including former students, their families, and friends.
A night of celebration and camaraderie
The event was marked by a lively atmosphere, with guests enjoying an array of entertainment, including live band music, talented singers, dancers, and DJs. The culinary experience featured sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, finger foods, beverages, and a main dinner that left attendees delighted.
The evening unfolded with guests dancing joyfully to scintillating music, including popular Baila songs, well into the early hours of the morning.
Honouring distinguished alumni
Illustrious Jaffna Central College Old Boy Dr. Kandiah Gnanendran graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Sabesan Thangathurai served as the Guest of Honour. Their presence added to the significance of the evening, inspiring attendees with stories of their journeys since their time at the college.

The delightful occasion was the result of meticulous planning and hard work by the Board of Directors of the Old Boys Association and the Dinner/Dance Sub-Committee. Mr. Esa Para, the President of the Old Boys Association, played a pivotal role in organizing the event, moving around with bountiful energy to ensure that all guests were enjoying themselves throughout the evening.
