Former Sri Lankan-born boxer, cricketer, athlete and rugby player Christie Marathalingam plays a crucial role in the development of cricket in Western Canada.
Christie Marathalingam is currently the Performance Director and Head Coach of Albert Schools Cricket Association. The association has promoted junior cricket in Western Canada for the past 19 years.
Marathalingam has an impressive resume of cricket activities including representing St. Peter’s College Sri Lanka 1956 to 1958, played for Combined Colleges Sri Lanka 1958 and went to play first class Club Cricket Sri Lanka 1958 to 1980.
In Canada, Marathalingam is a qualified cricket instructor, who represented the Prairies as a junior selector for Cricket Canada from 2004 to 2006.

Marathalingam continues is roles at Albert Schools Cricket Association since 1995.
