Tyrone Fernando, a 17-year resident of Ajax Ontario hopes to transform the municipality, running for Councillor in Ward 2 in the upcoming election.
The Sri Lankan-born Canadian has operated a successful business in Canada for 20 years.
“I believe that 80% or more of the people living in Ajax work away from the town, and this puts tremendous pressure on families, with additional costs and time lost in travelling,” Mr. Fernando said.
“This must change, we as a council must have the determination and motivation to make Ajax a vibrant business community, providing high paying jobs.”
Mr. Fernando suggests cutting red-tape and providing incentives for new businesses in Ajax to spur job creation.
In 2014, Mr. Fernando ran for city council in wards 1 and 2 and received over 4000 votes, visiting over 8000 households.
