Brave Lions Cricket Club in Canada has been promoted to Division II of the Toronto District Cricket Association (TDCA). “We are also proud of what we are doing for the development of cricket in Canada,” said the sport club’s president Tiran Yahathugoda at an inaugural dinner dance and awards ceremony held recently at Woodbine Banquet and Convention Halls in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Messages from local mayors were also presented, highlighting the importance of the fastest growing sport in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion said the game had grown immensely in her city and quoted Australian cricketing legend Sir Don Bradman in her message, “May cricket continue to flourish and spread its wings. The world can only be richer for it.”
