Recently SCREEN of Peel Community Association (SOPCA) unveiled a plaque outside a patient room at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga as they mark their $30,000 contribution to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation. SOPCA hosted annual walk-a-thons over the course of five years and has raised $30,000 from members, friends, and family. With an initial goal of $25,000, SOPCA members are very proud to have exceeded their initial goal.

SCREEN of Peel Community Association (SOPCA) is a Tamil youth and family organization serving the Peel Region. From young to old, members have come together for various occasions. The mission is to bring together the Tamil community and to promote Tamil culture and heritage.

SOPCA contributes to its community through different facets including food bank donations, park cleaning, and blood donation drives. Annually, SOPCA members collected over 700 lbs. of food and clean the Cedar Brae Park twice annually. These are the few ways that SOPCA members have been giving back to their community.

SOPCA wouldn’t have been able to achieve such achievements without the dedication of its members and would like to thank all of their ongoing supporters and partners.
