A public visitation will be held on Saturday September 3, 2016 at Chapel Ridge Home on Woodbine between 6 pm to 9 pm for a mother and her four-year-old daughter killed in tragic crash on Monday.
Inoka Athuraliya-Liyana-Waduge, 42, and daughter Savani, 4, were travelling east along 16th Ave in Markham Ontario. A black Infinity G35 crossed the centre line before the two vehicles slammed into each other head-on. Athuraliya-Liyana-Waduge and Savani were found without vital signs; both were rushed to hospital before being declared dead soon afterward, the Toronto Star reported.
The family migrated to Canada from Sri Lanka 10 years ago.
Pradeep Guruge received a phone call from his elder daughter that police had arrived home.
When he arrived at the hospital Guruge says he was told his wife had died. He then went to Sick Kids Hospital, where his daughter had been taken and there he was told she too had died, the CBC reported.
Guruge is now a single father to a 12-year-old daughter and is unsure about what the future holds.
A 28-year-old man and a five-and-a-half month baby in the other vehicle had minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the two-car crash.
