Steeve Vakeeswaran, former student of Colombo International School (CIS) is Junior Team Ambassador on trade mission to China representing Canadian business interests.
Junior Team Canada is a national youth delegation that represents Canadian business interests on the national and international stage.
This year’s mission to China backs Canadian Trade Minister Ed Fast’s recent mission to that country. The 15 day mission from July 25 to August 13 will focus on the four cities, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong.
“We will focus on promoting Canada as a country welcome to foreign direct investment while representing economic sectors with particular export growth potential in the Chinese marketplace such as agriculture, energy, education, forestry, value-added food, information & communications technology, immigration, mining and natural resources,” JTC said on its website.

Vakeeswaran is pursuing his studies in the Commerce program at Queen’s University with a keen interest in corporate finance. He is representing the Canadian real estate market in China and upon his return will publish his findings of residential commercial properties in that country.
Vakeeswaran has experience in social entrepreneurial ventures, co-founded Can-Youth York Region’s first student expression platform that reached 150,000, according to his bio on JTC.
